Day 2: Genesis 2

And God created Man, and God created Woman. Thus began the longest battle in the history of the world.

My Bible notes that "Even in a state of perfection, Adam feels loneliness and desire, so God provides woman." Man was not meant to be a free-standing unit, but part of a conjoined whole--spiritually, emotionally, mentally, and physically. Man, Woman, God. This is a stable tripod.

Genesis 2:7 - "The Lord God formed the man from the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man became a living being." Now that must have been something for the angels to see. Wow. And it's amazing the volume of meticulous design that goes into that little 12-word clause.

Verse 9 - "And the Lord God made all kinds of trees grow out of the ground—trees that were pleasing to the eye and good for food." See, God doesn't just care about function--He wanted it to look nice. God made a beautiful place for Adam and Eve to stay.

There are so many problems in the world today. If you try to think of them all it'll give you a headache and a bad day. It's nice to think back to a time when absolutely nothing, anywhere, was wrong. It'll happen again...maybe soon.
